River's First Day Of School

HI Friends & Family,

Today was River's first day of "school." He attends the St Helena Nursery School Co Op Toddler Class in Rutherford on Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:30. There are a total of 17 other students in the class, but not all of them were there today. At school River is allowed to play for nearly 2 hours and he finishes with a small circle time. They have dress up, blocks, cars, camping, painting, cooking, art, animals, swings, ride on toys, slide, books, babies, and much more! Parents are required to be present with the child and follow their lead. Parents are also required to participate in monthly meetings, help with clean up and cooking preparation and the annual fundraiser. This school was built in the 1800s.

River's favorite play area was the trucks and animals. He also enjoyed the ride on toys outside. He made toast at school and ate most of it. He also enjoyed eating the blue paint (oops). He didn't steal too many toys from other children and didn't melt down when other kids tried to take his toys. After nearly 2 hours of playing hard, he participated in circle time. He likes to stand in the middle of the circle and dance while the other students sing and clap. After school, he was very tired but happy!

I am now 37 weeks pregnant...2 1/2 weeks to go! The c section is scheduled for 9/30, however, I hope baby Rain chooses to come a little sooner. I am now going in 2x a week for non-stress test because I have to be on medicine to lower my fasting blood sugar numbers. I went yesterday for the first time for the non-stress test and I am definitely having braxton hicks contractions but I am not dialated. The nurse said everything looked fine.

I'm doing work in Concord 4 days a week and 1 day a week in Windsor. Both schools are not air conditioned, so I come home from work with very swollen kankles, toes, feet, etc. My feet look like something Adam would want to smoke on the grill!

Enjoy the photos!

Lots of Love
The Henkels
